Time Sensitive Networking Protocol Implementation for Linux End Equipment

نویسندگان

چکیده

By bringing industrial-grade robustness and reliability to Ethernet, Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) offers an IEEE standard communication technology that enables interoperability between standard-conformant industrial devices from any vendor. It also eliminates the need for physical separation of critical non-critical networks, which allows a direct exchange data operation centers companies, concept at heart Industrial Internet Things (IIoT). This article describes creating end-to-end TSN network using specialized PCI Express (PCIe) cards two final Linux endpoints. For this purpose, primary standards TSN, 802.1AS (regarding clock synchronization), 802.1Qbv time scheduled traffic) have been implemented in equipment as well configuration monitoring system.

ODMRP-ASYM (On Demand Multicast Routing Protocol) For Linux Implementation

This paper presents our work with an ODMRP (on demand multicast Routing Protocol) to extend its functionality to work with asymmetric links in a Linux Environment. We were given the functional code for the ODMRP protocol, as well as a test-bed to work with which consisted of five Dell Lattitude laptops equipped with Lucent Wireless PCMCIA 802.11 cards. Our implementation consists of adding to t...

A User Level Networking Infrastructure for Linux

Currently, most network packet processing occurs within the confines of the kernel in the Linux system. This reflects the historic nature of a Linux/Unix kernel in that its primary role was as a network host or end-point e.g a web server, or desktop. However, considerable effort is being expended to provide a greater level of packet processing on Linux systems, as more features are required suc...

Time-sensitive and Deterministic Networking Whitepaper

Best effort packet service is familiar to users of routers and bridges. It delivers most packets, most of the time, mostly in order. There are no guarantees. Certain service classes or can be given preferential treatment over other classes or flows. Performance is statistical. If one plots a histogram (Figure 1) of the probability of delivery, end-to-end latency, or variation in latency over a ...

GNU/Linux Implementation of a Position-based Routing Protocol

The Beacon-Less Routing protocol (BLR) is a positionbased routing protocol for mobile ad-hoc networks that makes use of location information to reduce routing overhead. However, unlike other position-based routing protocols, BLR does not require nodes to periodically broadcast hello messages and thus avoids drawbacks such as extensive use of scarce battery-power, interferences with regular data...

A PPPoE Implementation for Linux

Many DSL service providers use PPPoE for residential broadband Internet access. This paper briefly describes the PPPoE protocol, presents strategies for implementing it under Linux and describes in detail a user-space implementation of a PPPoE client.
